probably he only way to get a realistic gliss. for the violin is if it’s sampled and and there are few libraries that have done that extensively. Having said that, Dorico,as already mentioned, has a pitchbend facility and if you do a bit of arithmetic, you can calculate how to draw in a pitchbend for the appropriate interval (100/12 for each semitone). Naturally the library must support pitchbend up to 12 semitones – some players like OT Sine don’t – and you need to enter that value in the Expression Map as well as in the player.
If that’s too much hassle, then Daniel has dropped strong hints that a proper gliss is something they were planning to implement sooner rather than later (the new feature to set microtonality in the EM is designed to be a step in that direction) as there has been so much demand for it, so maybe see what the next Dorico update brings which --now that the shop is up and running again – surely can’t be that far off.
A cycle feature has been discussed to death and the fact so many of us are used to it in other software means that one day, it’s surely bound to come.
As regards stability, I find, like Derek, that Dorico is pretty stable. The minority who have problems will have something specific to their system and the the excellent support team here will certainly help in getting to the bottom of issues.
