i’m pretty new to Cubase 10.5 elements on Windows 10 . When I connect an acoustic guitar with powered pickup to the line-in or mic-in on my PC and record it into Cubase I get the audio but accompanied by nasty clipping & a chorusing effect. I guess I’ve created some kind of feedback loop but can’t work out why. I get the same result when recording with and without monitoring. I also tried another guitar with passive pickup and got same problem, so don’t think it is the guitar. Can anyone help?

When Monitor button is enabled, Cubase routes the tracks’ input to its output. So the signal pass thru the track. If you have other Direct monitoring enabled, then you get the signal twice.
