Global display of 5/8 measures as 2+3

I followed the instructions to get my 5/8 measures to appear as 2 beamed plus 3 beamed by changing the meter to 2+3/8. However, I do not want the compound signatures to be visible in the printed music, so I followed the instructions regarding the Engrave Options – but in Print mode, the compound signatures still show:

What might I be doing wrong?
Thanks

Use the meter popover (Shift+M) to enter the time signature as [2+3]/8. The brackets tell Dorico to “hide” the 2+3 by showing a 5.

Just change the time signature numerator property to number rather than beat.

Thanks for that - but how do I keep from having to enter that by hand 60 times over the course of the piece, please?

Where is that panel? Help menu does not reveal it.

It is the lower properties panel.

What appears there is very specific to what you have selected. Select only your time signature and this set of properties will appear. (If more than just a time signature is selected, the panel will only show common properties. You can of course make a general selection and use the filter to narrow the selection just to time signatures, if any are included in your selection)

It’s the lower zone

You can select one that you have entered this way and then Alt/Opt+click it into position elsewhere (or use copy and paste).

You can also record a user script that inserts this time signature and then run this from the scripts menu, or from the jump bar. (Or add a key command shortcut for it.)

OK, that works great! One (hopefully) last related issue: The “modified” 5/8 stops at each thin double bar. When the meter is 5/8 before and after it, adding an additional 5/8 after seems confusing. A way out of this?
Thanks

(Unfortunately?) Dorico treats barlines as time signatures too! I do not 100% understand how it all works. But it looks like the double barline inherits properties from the current time signature.

So, if you remove and replace your double barlines, the custom beam grouping should continue beyond them.

I also found that I can paste in the modified 5/8 and then hide it from the properties panel.

Yes, that will work, but will add a time signature signpost. I prefer not having the clutter.
