Just like the title for this post says, how do I globally change the size of intervals for chord symbols? I have to keep creating a chord symbol (Library > Chord Symbols) and manually add the chord symbol and then change the interval to be scale at 100%. I’ve looked in the chord symbols settings in engraver settings, but I’m not seeing anything. Any help would be great please and thanks! I really don’t want to keep making chord symbols in order to change the interval scale size.
No. I specifically want to globally change the size of the interval. Not the vertical position.
Could you attach an image what the current appearance is in your project, and tell us which part of that you want to change?
I mean, I can just use the screenshot you posted. I want to globally change the number interval in size.
So you just want to change the baseline of the 7, not the size?

You could have made it easier for me to show a chord without the manual change, and the one with the manual change you would like to create through the options.
It’s probably due to my lack of experience I can’t make that image in my head from the text you wrote.
Sounds like the OP wants to make the 7 larger or smaller in proportion to the G, not raise or lower it vertically.

Well…choosing the Subscript option is essentially the same thing as making the interval smaller, since it keeps the baseline the same. So you’d like to make the interval smaller than the Baseline image but larger than the Subscript image?

I’ve already made the manual edit, but Dorico keeps making the 7, or whatever the number in the chord symbol happens to be, scale at 60%. I’m wanting any number that appears in a chord symbol to be scaled at 100% please. In order to do what I want to do I have to go to Library > Chord Symbols, create the chord symbol and then resize the number in the chord symbol to 100%.
Okay, so it looks like you want the number to be superscripted, but still at 100%.
If you’re willing to get close but not exactly, then you can set this option, in Engraving Options > Chord Symbols > Design.
Unfortunately, this can’t be set to 100%, just 99%. It may also have undesirable effects on your other chord symbols.
Otherwise, I know that you can edit an individual chord symbol and make it apply to all roots, but in that case you’d still have to edit each type of chord symbol individually. Someone else may have a better solution.
I didn’t see that option, but like I keep saying, I manually edit each chord symbol that has a number. I’ll try it out for future projects and see what happens.
So, I just tried this with a new chord symbol, and it actually does what I want it to do! It’s just really odd that we can’t set it to 100% in Engraver Settings, but if you go create the same exact chord symbol in Library > Chord Symbols and look at the interval number, the number is scaled to 100% lol.
Interestingly, this appears to just be an interface limitation. If I manually edit my engravingOptions.xml file to make that value larger than 99%, like 125%, that larger scale factor will be reflected in the score, even if the interface still shows 99%.
If the functionality is already there, it seems like these input boxes should accept 3 digit values.
