Gluing muted midi parts with unmuted midi parts

gluing muted midi parts with unmuted midi parts creates one muted midi part (yes, even the part that is unmuted).

how to turn this feature off?

Hi,

You cannot switch this off.

Your observation is not accurate. The new MIDI Part overtakes the Mute value of the most left (1st) MIDI Part.

  • If the 1st MIDI Part is Muted, the newly glued MIDI Part would become Muted too.
  • If the 1st MIDI Part is not Muted, the newly glued MIDI Part would not become Muted too.

thank you for clarifying.

effect is the same either way, unwanted muted/unmuted parts.

is there a reason for this behaviour?

Hi,

All the parameters of the MIDI Part work this way. The same logic is applied for the Mute, Lock, Transpose, Global Transpose, Velocity, Root Key, Color, Name…

Actually, this logic is applied across whole Cubase. The most left object always “wins”. If you edit multiple objects simultaneously in the absolute mode, the values of the most left objects are applied.
