I’ve been using Sibelius since Day one, but have started experimenting by importing my sibelius scores as xml files into Dorico 6. I really liked the features such as been able to set the space size for the staffs on one page, and then copying that to all of the others in score, and some other things. Great! But I’ve encountered some problems that I know how to fix in Sibelius very fast, but in Dorico, it’s caught me unsure of how to solve them. I had some notes that were cramped together, and I couldn’t use the Sibelius trick of selecting the bar, and expanding it, and at the same time, the others becoming smaller, and I also tried to select 3 of the 4 bars, and try and put them together, but this put the score into disarray. Obviously I didn’t know how to do that properly. I then discovered with google AI that I could hit some keys and bring up the layout, and make all of the staffs/notes smaller, which then fixed that problem. Because I couldn’t do that process which I could do in Sibelius where you could make one bar larger, but the others smaller, I almost gave up. I’m thinking that I will have to learn Dorico all from the start. Is there anyway you can fix this problem that is similar to Sibelius?
Also, it there some process where I could select the whole score after it’s been imported by xml from Sib, and just let Dorico do the formatting to default settings so I can see what results?
Thanks.
Thanks for any help here.
