Goodwill Refund Request per Steinberg Support

Hello,

Kindly assist. I was directed to post here on the forum by Andree Lucht (Steinberg Support):

“As these are two different apps (one app is for Android, one for Apple), you would unfortunately need to purchase them again.
As enquiries about Steinberg apps are only handled via the Steinberg online forum, you can enquire there whether a refund for the Android app would be possible as a gesture of goodwill.

My email message to Steinberg:

Reaching out for assistance with a recent purchase of Cubasis 3.

Kindly see attached screenshot of email invoice.

I purchased Cubasis 3 on November 27, 2025.

I have since replaced my device with an Apple iPad Air 13” M3. I did not have the opportunity to use Cubasis on my original Android tablet.

It is not apparent to me if / how I can use Cubasis 3 on my new tablet.

Thank you,

Maria

The only way I know that this can be ‘fixed’ is to refund the original Android purchase at the Google Play Store and then buy Cubasis for iPadOS in the AppStore.

Android and iOS/IPadOS are two different platforms with no connection between them so no there’s really no practical way to transfer purchases between the platforms as all mobiles sales are handled by the respective platforms (Google & Apple) and not Steinberg.

Well there is, if they would needvto have a license server.. many subscription based services have crossplatform licenses.. like Netflix (where it doesnt matter where -platform- i buy the subscription.. it works everywhere) or Norton etc..

Tho it would mean you have to put resources into security etc while the play/app store has these things in place and you dont have to worry about that.

Honestly I wonder why even bother with the Android version of Cubasis as It’s total waste of development resource considering the platform is still very immature platform for audio production with no real standard for audio plug-ins etc.

Netflix has more than 300 million subscribers so, it’s probably worthwhile making that possible.

Thanks for your reply. I’m new to this forum, referred here by Steinberg Support.

Are there Steinberg admins or mods that monitor the forum?

Only one I know is @LSlowak

I think its worthwhile.. Theres almost nothing else on the platform apart from zenbeats, which is serviceable. It’s easy for us on the apple side to say another platform is a waste, but until I got my ipad, it was my prefered way to do music on the go. Obviously ipad is vastly superior

You do realise what time of year it is, right?
