I posted an earlier version of this, but that channel is gone.
Organ solo at 4:20, guitar solo at 6:10
Well that was quite a marathon! But I can’t compalin - my longest track was around 17 mins ![]()
Thanks for the share - me and my merlot enjoyed the journey! Quite a colourful piece I have to say! Quite the pallet of sounds which demands a lot from the listener. You’ve clearly got some highly commendable skills and at times very “interesting” ideas!

When I was young, back in the mists of time, coach companies used to have what they termed “mystery tours”. These would be coach trips with no actual destination. You’d get on the coach and have no idea where you were going to be taken. This is where The Beatles got the idea for their Magical Mystery Tour film.
And that’s how I “write” my music. The music starts, and you get taken to places you weren’t expecting, a surprise around every corner, and you have no idea where it’s going, but hopefully, it’s somewhere worthwhile.
That’s my music-making ethos.
Hmm, I’m beginning to sound pretentious!
I really enjoy your music Googly. It has energy and an intriguing uniqueness to it on a variety of levels - me likey! It’s sometimes unusual but that’s what makes it interesting and outstanding to me. There are a lot of tiny surprising details lurking around every corner. Loads of love and vibes, well done!
The way you handle virtual guitars is really impressive! Didn’t you mention at some point that you are a guitar player and that you own analog guitars, too?
I’m not a 14 minute song fan. In this case, I absolutly enjoyed the ride!
Keep on and kudos, Googly!
Yes, I am. Never performed publicly. Tried to start a band when I was 19, but gave up when the bassist beat up the drummer. Too much stress.
Out of practice now, but I still use my Les Paul Standard to work out “songs” before I open Cubase. This means I have a clear idea of what direction I want the “song” to go, although, usually a “song” will take on a life of it’s own, and starts telling me what direction it wants to go.
It’s a painstaking process!

At the risk of being accused of plugging my own work, I posted a different “song” last night with a video of the guitar solo.
Some screenshots…
I split the solo into 6 parts. The sixth part is just one E power chord, so I left that one out.
The automation. The “slot2” parameter is the Waves wah wah, “control 5” is the pedal of the wah wah.
Notes below E1 and above A#5 are the articualation keys.
I heard these changes and knew that there’s a lot going on - wow! Impressive and really well carried out. One can hear the mind of a guitar player is behind all this ![]()
That sounds familiar.
Scary!

excellent stuff and love how you make the keyboard play the guitar.
It’s all in the fingers - especially the finger I use to click the mouse!
(I don’t have a keyboard anymore, not since the 90s.)
I think if any one saw my “studio” they’d shocked and amused in equal measure.
The eagle-eyed will spot the blue-tooth speaker on the right, the glass coffee cup, not one but two notebooks, a finger grip exerciser, and may even spot my cheap M-Audio monitors.
I like the massive Lara Croft Jungle Wallpaper in the back ![]()
Impressive, that’s next level typing without an actual keyboard!
How do you manage to level your monitors with your ears? Don’t teĺl me you are kneeling while you do your magic… ![]()
Cheeky boy! You know I meant. [Looking for a wagging finger emoji]
I had a hearing test last year and I was found to have 52% of hearing in my left ear and 70% in my right. I can hear up to around 4KHz. And quite severe tinnitus in both ears. All the result of headphone abuse when I was young. I don’t bother about accurate monitoring as I wouldn’t hear any difference. I have a decent pair of headphones, (Audio Technica ATH M50X) but I don’t use them much. Funnily enough, when I do use them, the tinnitus lessens.
Most of the time I record and mix through a mono cue in the control room. I’m starting to use a Baxendale EQ there to boost the highs so that I can hear them, but without ruining the mix.
I test my mixes on 4 different speaker set ups, none of them expensive, but all very different. And my missus has the hearing of a bat, so I test my mixes with her, but not always.
All in all, a true horror show!
If I was asking money for my work I’d get the pros in to mix and master, but since I don’t - I don’t!
Shall probably get hearing aids in the summer.
Have a good weekend!

You are living proof that one can achieve great things despite partial hearing loss.
ROCK ON , Googly !
