I have the possibility to still buy the “Steinberg Absolute Instrument Coll. Edu” (=Absolute 1?) in original packaging/not activated.

Would that qualify for the grace period update to Absolute 3?

Absolute 1 -> Grace Period -> Absolute 2 -> Grace Period -> Absolute 3?

No, the Absolute 1 Collection does not qualify for the grace period.
