Grace Period

Apparently if you buy any update at discounted price for Steinberg software you can activate it whenever you want, even several versions down the road.

Why is Steinberg allowing this to be hidden from us?

Why must some naive people buy the full price for update? Nuendo full price update is not cheap. If I knew that you can actually do that I would buy the discounted anniversary price at recent sale and waited comfortably for Nuendo 15 or even Nuendo 16!

Why must loyal users hunt all year around for discounts in the first place? Why is this a good business practice Steinberg?

The terms are on public view on the Steinberg website, not hidden:
How to verify eligibility for free Grace Period update

This particular grace period option should be explained more prominently in buying option and sale promo material not in some help file IMO. Most people are not even aware that you can delay update to newer more suitable version.

Anyway I lost my Nuendo anniversary update price and Steinberg lost 90€. Not a big deal for them but it is a big deal for me.

I would not agree. The purpose of it is not to help sell the product, but to appease people who buy right before an update is released. A internet search for the term Grace Period Nuendo would be enough to find the info.

This forum is chockabloc with grace period threads and queries.
