gradual bypass of insert?

Hi all!

The plugin I’m using as an insert on a track (cubase elements’ included AmpSimulator) lacks a ‘mix’ dial. I’m looking for a way to essentially emulate this I guess, so that I might effectively bypass the plugin gradually with automation & vice versa, instead of just on/off. I know I could use a send but I don’t want any of the dry signal.

But you do want the dry signal as the effect bypassed is exactly that.

So send to amp sim (pre fade) with the dry channel turned down. Then fade up the channel as you automate send level down.
