gradual dynamics interrupted by force/intensity of attack marking

I’d like to enter a single gradual dynamic (cresc . . . ) lasting several bars, above and along which are multiple attack marks (sf). I.e.

sf sf sf
cresc . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ff

When I insert an attack mark midway through gradual dynamic, the gradual dynamic stops at that point and doesn’t continue - and I can’t find a suitable workaround. How should I be entering this?

(I’m trying to enter Beethoven op. 130, 1st movement, bars 81-87.)

many thanks!

Are you aware of this selection in Engraving Options > Dynamics? It may not be exactly what you want but may be the closest Dorico can get at the moment.

To be clear, that engraving option changes the appearance of multiple gradual dynamics, rather than drawing a single gradual dynamic being “interrupted” by an immediate dynamic, so you will need to add a further gradual dynamic after the immediate one.

Thanks!
