Granular control of slicing

Hey all, I’d appreciate it if someone could give me a clue:
(First, I am familar with the slicing algorithm in Elastic, and how that is applied in the file editor.)
What I’m looking for is a way I can slice up a file, and put the slice-points a controllable distance ahead of the hit points. I would also like it if the hit point could still be the “anchor point” of the audio event (the point that gets quantized), even though the slice point is ahead of the hit point.
fyi - at the moment I’m working with a shaker track that has sound ahead of, as well as after, the transient.
Is there any way to do this in Cubase?

I’m answering my own question before you guys do…I’m getting faster.

After slicing is done with the elastique algorithm, then open the Quantize Panel. This panel not only allows you to quantize the slices, it also has a button at the bottom allowing you to add crossfades between all the slices. Once crossfades are added, you can set the width of the crossfades, AND, you can step the crossfades forward and back in time.
The thing to be aware of is the order of operations. Quantize is always done with the beginning of the event defining the quantize point, so, if you apply crossfades and move them, then requantize, the event slices will be way off from where you want them. The thing to do is quantize first, then add fades, then nudge the fades forward or backwards as needed. If you want to change the quantize settings, hit undo a few times to undo the fades and fade nudges, change the quantize, then re-add the fade and nudges.

An improvement that would be nice is if the transient-hit points could become the reference for the quantizingl; that way we could quantize after adding fades and nudging them. It would be easier to constantly update the settings.
