I have contacted support about my very sluggish performance. Whenever I input anything into the score there is a 500-1000ms delay and when I press ctrl + z multiple times I heard my computer fans revving up. Even though I have very powerful specs. A meaty processor, great graphics card and 64gb of ram. My sibelius performance was butter smooth. Is anyone experiencing the same?
Support told me to check for graphics accelerations in preference and in the manual. The issue is I can’t locate them for the life of me. It is not in my preferences and when searching in the manual all I can find is about graphic slices?
Does anyone know where I can find the setting for graphic acceleration and undo stack size?
Welcome to the forum @Tomas_Westholm,
I think the team (here) would normally need you to upload a Diagnostics Report or something alike. I’m sure someone will reply as soon as they can.
Support refuses to tell me where to find the graphic acceleration setting. They sent me to the manual and when I couldn’t find it they sent me to ask here. It’s like they are gatekeeping it which is a bit humourous.
If the person at support knows about this specific setting, they must also know where to locate it. Yet they do not tell me in the email correspondence despite asking directly for it. But I will try and upload a diagnostics file!
Dorico Diagnostics.zip (1.5 MB)
Here are my diagnostics.
How big is your score, and which sample library are you using?
Very large scores, in combination with very large (Gb) sample libraries can cause some slowing; but if this is happening in a new document, then there’s something wrong with your setup.
I don’t think there’s a graphic acceleration settings in Dorico – I can only presume they were talking about OS settings. Another possibility might be a MIDI feedback loop, where everything keeps going round again and again.
As said, this is the place to get the best support from the Dorico team – general Steinberg support may not have been best placed to help with specifics, sadly.

It’s a standard symphonic score and I’m using noteperformer which should be really light on the system. Not seeing any load on my rig through task manager. Firefox open right now is using more resources than the project file.
In File > Project Statistics, how many Frames?
Is Condensing On? Do you have lots of layouts open in different tab/windows?
And do you see the problem in a brand new document?
8561 frames.
Condensing is not on but performance stays the same when I have it.
I still experience this in a brand new document.
Oh and no layout opens. Just full score.
OK, if it’s in a brand new document, then it’s not the size that’s a problem, and suggests a config issue.
Try turning off MIDI Thru in Preferences > Play; and check the list of MIDI inputs, and turn off anything that isn’t your MIDI keyboard.
Feel free to PM me the file and I will see how it goes here.
Midi through unfortunately did nothing and I don’t have any midi input sources whatsoever hooked up to the computer.
I can PM you a file where I get this issue! ( all of them)
It’s up to you
If it’s literally all of your files with exactly the same lag then I guess there’s no point.
Just trying to figure out how to PM someone…And no it’s across the board. So maybe not! There is probably an answer in the diagnostics report for a developer to check out.

OK, well, I’m sure one of the team will be along soon to inspect your diagnostics and work out what the problem is.
They’ll fix it, don’t worry.
