Graphics causing 9.5 Elements crash

I posted about this on another thread, but hoping that maybe someone here has the answer.

I have had Cubase a Elements 9.5 for a few weeks. No problems until yesterday. On startup I got an error message saying: “C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase 9\ graphics2d.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.” “Error status 0xc0000020”.

Tried to reinstall Cubase Elements 9.5 but still have the same issue. I am not using NVIDIA, my graphics card is intel HD graphics 4000 - checked driver, reloaded just in case, but everything looks ok.

Tried starting using one of the .bak files, the GUI opens but none of the VST instruments are present.

Do I (should I) delete Cubase first, then reinstall? Note: I have dozens of hours invested in laying tracks. I sure don’t want to lose my work. I have each project saved.

Thank in advance for any help you can give me. 4GodnWV
