Graphics suddenly missing from every graphics frame in entire project

I opened a project recently that I have been working on for about 6 months and the dozen or so graphics frames that have consistently had content are suddenly empty, no graphics. I had not updated since it was working, same version, but I did notice an update was available. I did the update and still have the problem. Is there a global fix for this, or am I going to need to go through and place graphics in one at a time again? Thank you!

Welcome to the forum.

So you haven’t moved to location of the Dorico file, nor of the image file?

Does a backup copy behave the same?

Can you upload the file here?

Hello.

Thanks so much for the quick response!

I may have moved the files, seems plausible. Backup file does the same thing, so that must be it. Looks like I may have to re-upload all the graphics, which is not the worst problem! Thanks for the insight!

This has happened a time or two with my files as well. I have a logo I place in the lower left corner, and that graphic file has been in the same place on my drive since 2015, so it’s not about the file location. I just think that Dorico misinterprets the pointer to that file, or it gets corrupted somehow. Luckily for me, it’s just one graphic, so I add it again and move on.

From an old thread:

How do you ensure graphics are embedded? Is that an option? What does it actually mean for them to be embedded?

I don’t think it’s an option. They are added automatically. The Dorico file format is a zip container. Here’s inside the container. If you change the file extension from dorico to zip, you can open the zip file and see the content.
