Grid Timing Off

I’m having an issue where the timing on my project view and the timing on my MIDI view are off by an eighth. It’s hard to describe, so please look at the video below to see what I’m talking about as I switch between the two views.

Additionally, I set my divisions to be by five at one point to make sure I had some quintuplets in there correctly, but it seems stuck on displaying the quintuplets despite me changing the quantize value?

I’m sorry, but I have no idea what you are trying to show us in the video. Often a few marked up screenshots with a text description of what to notice and what to ignore (if only by implication) is easier to follow than a bunch of different stuff all moving around.

Your at Bar 14 in the Project Window then you jump to bar 41 in the Key Editor ? what’s going on ?

Sorry all, I made that in a rush so it was vague! Here, let me break it down:

In the first screenshot, you can see that everything looks fine. The snap type is set to grid, the grid type is set to beat, and the quantize is set to quarter notes.

Going from the exact same spot, once I enter the Key Editor, things go wrong. Firstly, as @7am3s_UK pointed out, it jumps bars (in this case to 37) and is clearly off the first beat despite appearing on-beat in the last screenshot:

I think it’s possible the issue originated from this custom quintuplet quantize setting I have, which it seems may be stuck? I can’t think of a reason that would happen, but it might explain why the bars are off as well if it’s counting them eighth quintuplets.

It looks to me that in the 1st pic your ruler is set to Bars & Beats but in the 2nd it is using minutes & seconds. I had an AI calculate the timing, although it assumed 4/4, not sure how your time sig impacts the calculation. But ball park looks about right.

I don’t think anything is moving around, just your scale is changing. You can verify by selecting the same item in both views and seeing if its location changes on the Info Line.

I’m assuming your Tracks are set to Musical Timebase.
