Groove agent 5 - is it me or is it awful?

Damn dude! Hope you’re doing better.

It’s a deep piece of kit. Maybe you can tell us how you want to use it, what type of production you’re incorporating it in, style of music - then we can focus on which aspects of the software are necessary.

I’m okay, thanks but it changed my whole life, as you can imagine.

It struck the communication part of my brain so I couldn’t play guitar, read, write or speak properly (some would argue I could never play guitar, including my wife ).

I’m very basic in my use, basically want to be able to drag and drop the patterns into my DAW (I use Cubase 14 pro).

What I’ve found is that it’s been really glitchy and things that are in the tutorial aren’t there on mine.

I write all manner of music so no specific style.

I’m in the middle of redoing my templates… once I’m in the Groove Agent folder/section, I’ll be able to help you more but I’m sure someone else will be able to.

A user here, @ZeroZero , had put together a comprehensive guide to GA while learning:

There is also a free course on GA5 at utube One Man and his songs. My advice, chill and do the course. It takes a while to learn and thre are glitches, but it is truly a wonderful piece of sofware.

Yep I have posted the link at the beginning of this thread.
It’s really worth putting the time in.

I have watched this and this, is where it all started.

I realised that my version of GA doesn’t do the stuff he’s showing (well not all of it anyway).

I couldn’t get my version of GA to look like his and there is nothing before this that I can find.

Are you using the “free” included version of Groove Agent? “Groove Agent SE”,

Or did you buy full version?

I’ve got the full version.

Can you take a screencapture of what yours looks like and post it here so we can see how yours differs from his?

I hope this helps.
