I can’t find a way to fix this display for GA 6…just upgraded to Absolute 7…Anybody seen this?
Windows 11 Pro - AMD 9 7950, 64g RAM, Samsung 2 TB SSD and 12g video card…

Hi jrdevo,

Please reinstall Groove Agent. Make sure to run the installer with admin rights. Make a right-click on the setup file and choose “run as administrator”. That should repair your installation.

Same issue here with the latest update, I deleted and re-installed as admin, and still cant see the VST just the mixer window above, is there a more detailed way to remove the original install other then the download manager ?

What you’re seeing is the “Generic Editor” of the plug-in – this is what was there before these lovely graphics-rich UI’s were possible, it’s an historic artifact, and you probably inadvertently clicked on it by mistake. To get back to the “normal” UI, right-click in a blank are and select “Switch to Plug-in Editor”:

oh - I tried and I dont have that option to switch to plug in editor, I have everything else on your screen shot but that,

The 3-Minute “Surgical” Fix:

  1. Open Steinberg Download Assistant.

  2. Go to Absolute 7 > Groove Agent 6.

  3. Click the Settings (Gear Icon) in the top right of the Download Assistant.

  4. Check the “Download Directory.” Go to that folder on your hard drive.

  5. Inside that folder, look for the Groove Agent 6 Application Installer (it’s about 250–360 MB).

  6. Don’t just run it. Right-click the installer and select “Run as Administrator.”

  7. Crucial Step: During the install, if it asks for a location, do not change it. Let it go to the “Default” (Common Files).

This worked as a reinstall after the Download Assistant failed 3 or more times to do it.

thx, got here, right click run as admin, and still have the issue ,

trying a full uninstall and removing all VST III groove agent files,

all good now, full uninstall and deleting any groove agent folders ( except library ) I could find on C drive, fresh re-install download assistant worked , thanks for your help
