Groove Agent Error Message

Every time I launch Dorico I get an error message that an essential component has not been found. I reinstalled Groove Agent as required but the error message persists. Screenshot attached

What doe you see in the main window (under Virtual Instruments & Libraries) of the Steinberg Download Assistant for Groove Agent?

Which version of Dorico are you using… Groove Agent 6 is the latest version.

Hi @Robert_Smallwood , please read the error message carefully.

It says that the GrooveAgent Content is missing. Content here means the sound library for GrooveAgent. You have the GrooveAgent plug-in installed, but not the corresponding sound samples. Have a look in the Steinberg Download Assistant, there are 2 items listed for GrooveAgent, the instrument plug-in and the sound content, just download and install that one as well. Or - if you won’t use Groove Agent anyway - just tick the option “Do not show this again”.

Ulf Actually that is not the case. Both the plug in and content are showing as correctly downloaded as you can see in the screenshot of the download assistant. And yet the error persists.

And what if you load a GrooveAgent instance, does it load any sounds?

Also, please open a Terminal window (do a Spotlight search for it) and into that window copy and paste the command

find /Library/Application\ Support/Steinberg/Content -ls > ~/Desktop/SMTGContents.txt

After hitting the Return/Enter key that shall create the file SMTGContents.txt on your Desktop. Please zip that up and post as an attachment to a reply here. Thanks

If he agrees with my suggestions, how about trying to ‘Install Again’; once you’ve generated the SMTGContents file…
