Trying to understand the odd behavior of the volume setting - available when one selects

Volume
Sets the sample volume.
Try adjusting the volume slider of a selected pad e.g -7dB; this should adjust the sample volume, and it does appear to do so.
Then click on another pad, click back again on the pad on which the volume was adjusted, what one sees is a different volume (random) setting e.g. -3db
In fact this volume function appears to be completely broken.
