Group name replaced by a number

Hello,

I really cannot find why this is happening…

I always need to show group labels in this score.
But in many systems of this score, and for the first instrument of any group only, the group label is replaced by a number.

I can’t find any setting that explains this.
Would anybody know what is going on ?

That’s because there is no room for the bracket with a single instrument. So the 8 should be in the Group name, no? At least not with only two staff lines.

the group name is II
the system under is also group II with only one staff and it works as expected..
this happens only with the first instrument of the groups

Hm, can you share the file. You can pm it if you prefer.

The only thing I can think of is that these staves come from “treble clef instrument” with a custom number of staff lines (2 in the case of bongos)
I need that in order to be able to cross staff with other staves.
this is the only explanation I see…

So the player short group name is 8. You can right-click and edit. And since there’s no room for the full name, it uses the short name.
