As the title of the topic indicates, I would like to know how to group only the selected bars.
Do you mean getting rid of the number 1 above the single bar rest under the second ending? That question gets asked a lot on the forum, see for instance this recent topic:

I think you should see this the opposite way : you don’t want the last bars to be multibar rests. So first, activate that function in Layout options, then create something that would prevent Dorico from creating a multibar rest at the end. If my memory serves well, a chord region could do the trick.
Well, I see it’s the 1 thing that troubles you, there is an Engraving option not to display the 1 in one-bar-long multi bar rests… Sorry, you need to display it. Chord region is your friend, I suppose.
