Given up with Steinberg support which I guess is their objective, so grateful we have this forum.
I am having issues with automation sends within groups. I have in this instance 4 reverbs which I then want to access from, say, the dialogue group as and when appropriate. When I go to my automation channels they fail to name the channel and quite often fail to work. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a hidden button I need to press? Here’s a screen shot. As you can see within the Dialogue 2 I am able to set up the level channel for the Room reverb but the channel below that, despite setting it up in the same way, only says ‘level’ but not what for. I cannot rename or create any reference for this which I need for a complicated edit. The reason I have a dialogue 2 group is I decided to give up trying to work with my original dialogue group and create a new one but the same problem. WTF am I doing wrong? TIA for any suggestions to solve this brick wall I have hit.
Oh and while I am here, anyone any idea why N14 doesn’t recognise the Rode Soundfield plugin? I’ve had to revert to N13.
Forgot to mention in my original dialogue group some of the sends to reverb simply will not turn on. It’s a mess, taking me away from what I should be doing. TIA for any help
That Rode plugin is basically abandonware. I never got it to work properly (macOS) and it was long out-of-date when I purchased my NT-SF1 last year. I went with Audiobrewers plugins (which do support the Rode ambisonic mic). Great software, btw.
Thanks for the reply. That’s disappointing for many reasons as I have been involved with Ambisonics for some time and hoped when Rode bought Soundfield they would continue to support it but it seems not from what you are saying. Took a look at the Audiobrewers stuff but it appears that it changes file formats to Ambisonic formats only. What I want is something that changes Ambi quad A to 5.1/7.1/atmos as Rode Soundfield allegedly does. Am I misunderstanding the blurb on the website? Can you recommend, from actual experience, if this is what AB encoder does, enabling routing to the speakers? Many thanks.
Yes, I was really disappointed in Rode for letting that one go. However, the Audio Brewers stuff is probably more flexible/higher quality anyway and the customer support is great, too.

Yes, I am working exclusively with Atmos. The ab Decoder HOA replaces the Steinberg AmbiDecoder plugin in the ambisonic channels’ panner slot (right-click on the panner) and then you select your desired speaker output in the ab Decoder interface. For additional refinement (though not required), I also insert the ab Imager + Upscaler on the channel to upscale the Rode audio to 3rd order ambisonics.
