GUI Unstable & crashes

Within the Project window, as I click into a point on the timeline to start from, it jumps off the event display and is playing off in the event display. I can see a line movement in the Track List area. This makes it almost impossible to navigate the track or edit. Also, if I move the Transport around it can disappear under another item. I can’t alt-tab to it and so I deselect Transport and reselect for it to appear. I have Win10 (Build 17134) though it is no longer supported on my computer (i7 970 12 CPUs, 2G RAM, Gigabyte Technology X58A-UD3R , NVIDIA GForce GTX 460 graphics card) At times, the whole project crashes.

Version 8.5 was working ok. pre-upgrade. I am working on files from that.

As you are using NVIDIA graphics card, please try this:

  • Uninstall the NVIDIA driver.
  • Download the latest Studio driver version from here.
  • Start the installation (as administrator).
  • Don’t install the whole package, use the Custom (Advanced) settins.
  • Disable everything (don’t install NVIDIA Experience, PhysX, etc.), keep just the video driver enabled.

Martin! Martin! Martin! The driver update seems to have put me back on the path. What can I do for you? Thank you very much. Steinberg forum rules.
