Guide to multiple flows per page

Is there a tutorial that shows how to manage the appearance/layout when using multiple flows per page please?

I’m trying to be tidy using master pages etc. I still find I have too much whitespace between certain flows and some flows are split across two pages when there’s no need for it.

Layout Options—Page Setup—Flows. Reduce the flow header margins above and/or below.
