is it possible to connect to cubasis 3.8 my guitar and record on it using the amp rack? i watched some videos so im pretty sure its possible. Also would i need headphones or does tablet speakers suffice. One more thing can i record vocals into a mic into cubasis? What wires would i need and how do i set this up? Any advice is much appreciated. Thnx
Yes, you can, but cables are not the only thing needed. To record a guitar or microphone into Cubasis on a tablet, you will normally need an audio interface. This is a usually fairly small device that connects to your tablet and lets you plug in your guitar and/or microphone.
A guitar and a microphone produce different types of audio signals, so the interface converts those signals into something your tablet and Cubasis can work with. Some microphones also need a power called phantom power, which many audio interfaces can provide.
An audio interface also handles the sound coming back out of Cubasis. You can connect headphones or external speakers to the interface and hear your recordings with much better quality compared to your tablet’s speaker, as they really aren’t suitable for recording and mixing because the sound quality is limited. Headphones or proper speakers connected to the audio interface will give you a much more accurate idea of what your recording actually sounds like.
There are many different audio interfaces available, and the right one depends on whether you have an Android tablet or an iPad, what connections your tablet has, what you want to record, and your budget. So there isn’t one interface that is automatically the best choice for everyone. But as an example of the type of device we’re talking about, here’s one of the more popular audio interfaces.

I’m afraid I can’t help you specifically with connections for Android tablets, as I know nothing about them; I’m on iPad. But perhaps someone else can chime in. But the device you linked to is a headphone output splitter, and that’s not what you need, since you already have the Focusrite audio interface for making all the in/out connections. The only question is whether the Focusriteis compatible with specifically your Android tablet, and what’s needed to connect it to your tablet.

so, with oboe, the input and output test worked. but when i recorded it didnt playback. Maybe my tablet is too cheap. Is there another way to get cubasis and guitar to work together? I really wanna try amp rack
