I know this has been asked before but I don’t think it’s been answered. Is there really no way to apply Dorico’s tablature guitar bend symbols to standard notation? I’ve always used the curved arrows to indicate bends & releases in both tab and notation and really don’t want to switch it up now.
If there isn’t any way to do this, does anyone know if there are any plans to implement it?
Oh okay, I guess it has. How about my 2nd question?
I’m used to people brainstorming workarounds or at least giving a bit more explanation for why a particular feature isn’t available and/or if/when it might be, on this forum. So getting just a straight up “no” feels a little surprising and unsatisfying.
Given that it currently isn’t possible and someone (me) requested it, I’m fairly certain the team put it on some feature-request list. They don’t talk about their implementation priorities, so no idea if/when it makes it in.
As for workarounds. That’s a bit above my pay grade. I imagine lines and curves and custom playing techniques etc. but the current implementation doesn’t bother me all that much.
What error are you getting? It downloads for me as a normal zip file; inside, there’s a folder called Curvy Arrows which contains a PDF, a Dorico file, and a bunch of SVGs.
Well, 3rd time’s a charm! Not sure what I did differently but I just tried to open them again and it worked.
They’re interesting but I don’t think I know enough about Dorico to put them to use. I’d need to remove one of the arrow heads from a couple of the lines and adjust their size, not sure if I can even do that.
