Guitar Harmonics (brackets in TAB)

Hi everyone!!

Working in Dorico 6, and I’m usually writing solo guitar arrangements. When I use the toggle switch on a note to make a harmonic (natural harmonic, diamond head in the staff notation), Dorico doesn’t change the “look” of the fret number in the TAB underneath in any way.
Harmonics in the TAB staff should have angle brackets around the number so that you can clearly see that it’s an harmonic and not a natural note. Can’t find anywhere to change this in Engraving Options (harmonics) either.

Hope someone can help,
Kind regards/Emil Ernebro

I’m afraid Dorico doesn’t currently support the use of angle-brackets for harmonics. This is something that’s been requested before, so we will certainly consider it for a future version, but I don’t know when that might be.

Hmmm… I have harmonics displayed with square brackets in the tab - unfortunately, I can’t remember HOW I did it!

If I can figure it out, I’ll let you know!

Here’s an example:

Here it is - I hope this helps, Emil - it’s not angle brackets, but it distinguishes the harmonics in the tab…

Thanks - yes I´ve used the square brackets instead, it works too! I was just curious if there was any way to get the regular angle brackets - but it seems like they haven’t fixed that yet. Crossing my fingers for a future update including this! Thanks anyway!! Have a great day!

Ok! Im using square brackets! Hope to see angle brackets in the future! Thank you, and have a great day!

Guitar pro has implemented in this way and I hope that Dorico would support harmonics in tablature in this format:

Just chiming in here to say I would also love to see this in a future update!

Cheers!
