I use Guitar Pro to arrange guitar music, but I am considering switching to Dorico because of the better integration with Cubase, which is where I record.
I wonder if there is anyone here who has made the same switch? Is there anything you can do in Guitar Pro that is not possible in Dorico? I only have the free version of Dorico so far, but just looking around, it seems to have the features I need.
In my experience, Dorico is a little inflexible concerning what is shown on the linked TAB staff, that’s why I always use a second, TAB-only player. I then copy down only what I need, usually notes only.
And Dorico’s fingering and position logic in TAB staves could use some updating, since it always assumes for notes to be in open position, i.e. low on the neck.
But I’m sure the team is aware of this and will tackle the issue of interdependent fingering, TAB and position playing in due course!
