I have been so frustrated lately trying to record my songs and at one minute when using the JDXI it’s been going well but recently I plugged my electro acoustic in my steinberg interface and I could hear the guitar perfectly without any lagging so no buffering adjustments needed, and it recorded fine ,now for the issue ..upon recording the first guitar track I wanted to record a lead acoustic over the top of the first guitar track 1, I did what you have to do - add track>make sure it’s the correct input >make sure it’s mono etc but for some reason when it started to record it is recording the same recorded piece as track one without the record symbol being on-on track one ,and I can’t seem to fix this or work out why it’s doing this please help me someone I beg you .
That’s pretty weird! What Steinberg interface is it and what OS? We really need some screenshots of your project too but I don’t think you can post them yet. You may need to reply to some other threads to get your trust level up to be able to do so.
Thanks for the reply ..it’s a IX022
No problem!! I see that it has loopback capabilities so I’d make sure that is turned off.. it’s possible that could be your problem
Hi and welcome to the forum!
Following @Dtgtrman78’s approach, it is very likely that is has something to do with your loopback function.
Press button 11 for more than one second and make sure that it isn’t lit up:
What loopback does: Signals that are sent from your DAW (in your case it’s track one with your first guitar) are mixed with the incoming signal that you are recording. Now, both signals are sent back to Cubase. In other words, there’s nop need for track one to have record armed.
@Reco29 @Dtgtrman78 if this fixes it I’ll be so overwhelmed
