Guitar Tablature In Cubase Artist

I’m a long time user of Cubase, recently updated from Pro 8.5 to Artist 12. The description of features says Artist has basic scoring, which I assumed would include guitar tab, but it seems it doesn’t.
The Staff Settings pull down includes a one called TAB but this doesn’t seem to change anything.
Is guitar tab possible in Artist? If so, how do I do it?
Thanks.

Hi @moonbeam

Hope this helps:

Are you sure? It’s not possible to do an update to a lower cost product, which is what you describe as having done.

Page Mode and all the other advanced score editing stuff is in Cubase Pro, in any case.

It’s very basic

There are no tabs in the Artist Score Settings Dialog. You must be running Cubase Pro.

That video is showcasing Cubase Pro. OP stated they use Artist.
Afaik tablature is only available in Pro.

When I said Update I meant bought a new copy – it was cheaper to buy Artist 12 than to upgrade from Pro 8.5 to Pro 12.

Sadly, it appears to have been a false economy :frowning:

Unfortunately so!

There is a staff setting called TAB, it just doesn’t do anything.

Where do you see that? Image please.

Here.

Oh, you’re referring to the the Clef. It shouldn’t be in there.

Sorry, upgrading to Pro is all you can do.

But you should really download the trial version before spending any more money, to make sure you’re buying something that will be useful to you.

Thanks. I went for Artist because it has nearly everything I need. I think I’ll just live without tab.

Just in case that you’d change your mind and want to update to pro, I stumbled upon this comment:

This is not the same at all, and doesn’t apply here.

Upgrade from Cubase Pro 8.5 to 12 costs € 199,00
while a full version Cubase Artist 12 costs € 329,00

Are you sure you didn’t buy Cubase 12 Elements?
