GXP88 Midi Keyboard connects, hear playback, but no input when in input mode

I’m having some trouble on this. I’m on Windows 11 home. This is the first time experiencing this issue.

My midi keyboard is connected, shows power, is recognized by Dorico 6, and I even hear playback, but when I enter note input mode, I don’t get notes on the staff. Any idea if this is a program side issue or hardware issue?

EDIT: I have tried restarting the system and unplugging and replugging the device. Tried restarting dorico… all the standard stuff, to no avail.

EDIT 2: I just reinstalled dorico, tried a different midi controller, and I can’t get any effect of note input. I also tried a brand new score, and no effect either.

EDIT 3: I also tried downgrading Dorico to 6.1 and trying input, to no avail.

EDIT 4: The MIDI editor in the program also doesn’t work! I have attached the diagnostic report of the sample test file to this discovery session.

EDIT 5: I notice a low hum note (quiet) continuing behind and the green dot in the bottom right corner remains on, which is unusual. I have checked my inputs for midi cyphers, and I don’t see any.

Hi @joshdnichols ,

what if you go in the Dorico Preferences dialog to the Play tab, scroll all the way down, unfold the Advanced Options and there disable Win RT MIDI and restart Dorico, does MIDI input work then?

What the heck!!! That worked! I don’t even use any BT midi devices!

Thanks for your response. You saved my bacon on a deadline.

Glad to hear! You are more than welcome.
