Rather unusual I suppose, but I’m trying to engrave a piece which has several small swells, with their aperture centered on the noteheads. If I click the notehead and apply the swell, I’m subsequently not able to move it horizontally. I can move the middle handle, but that will simply move the aperture point and render the swell asymmetrical… while I can move the whole thing vertically, I can’t seem to move it in the horizontal domain…
You can move the point at which the messa di voce changes direction using the ‘Messa di voce inflection’ property in the Properties panel.
I’m trying to, but when I move that point to the center of the notehead, I’m left with a > only… the < bit disappears…
It suggests to me that perhaps you don’t have very much space: you could try increasing the minimum legal length for a hairpin on the Dynamics page of Engraving Options.
