Hi there! My graphical representation for gradual dynamic change (“hairpin”) is docked at the 1 of the next bar (see image). In the notation options (shift + cmd + E) I can’t find an option to shorten the hairpin so that it ends correctly at the end of the bar. I would like to save this as a standard in the notation options (the language of my Dorico Pro 5 version is German). Who can help? Thanks!
Hi, Ludger!
Open Engrave Options (Ctrl+Shift+E), go to “Dynamik”, open the first “Erweiterte Optionen” and find the entry called “Gabeln, die vor einer Noten am Taktbeginn enden”. It should be set to “Taktstrich nicht überschreiten” for your purposes.
Also scroll all the way down and find the section “Relativ zu Taktstrichen” where you can do some finetuning.
(I have to admit that I probably might not fully understand your question: You ask for a setting to make the hairpin end at the end of the bar, while the hairpin in your screenshot is, well, ending at the end of the bar.)
Thanks @Estigy ! I actually had my settings set up as you suggest, but it was’nt successful (see screenshot; unfortunately I couldn’t find the section “Relativ zu Taktstrichen”). See the further screenshots to understand my problem. In the first picture (above) you can see a small, green, dashed line that leads to the next bar. In the 2nd picture you can see the trimmed score with the hairpin. In the 3rd picture the score after adding 5 empty bars with shift + B.
Thanks @Zalde ! But I want, that the hairpin really goes to the end of the bar.
I think that because your hairpin was going all the way to beat one of the (virtual) bar after the final barline, by adding a few empty bars Dorico added them between the last bar and the end of the hairpin.
If you want the hairpin to reach exactly to the bar line, you would need to set the settings for “Abstand zwischen Gabel und Taktstrich” in the “Relativ zu Taktstrichen” section right to 0.
