Half Note Problem

I have the option for “Notes starting after the start of the bar of multiple beats in duration:” set to “Notate as a single note”, but Dorico is acting like I have it set to “Split at the half-bar”. I have tried clicking “Apply” several times, and have even tried restarting Dorico.

I’d wager your specific use case is causing an exception. Can you be very specific about what’s contained in that bar?

A dotted eighth note, then a sixteenth note, then a half note, then a quarter rest.

Have you updated to 3.1.0? There’s a line in the Version History that indicates that changes may have been made in this area…
