Hello, I’m having issues with a half note changing to tow quarter notes when adding two quarter notes on top in the same system. I followed all the tutorials and manuals, making sure i chose the right rule in Notation options without success. Here’s a short video to demonstrate.

If this is what you want to achieve:
you need to use two different voices (and not the Chord Mode).
As a quick fix, you can select the C and press Shift+V: it will create a voice for it:
But the proper way to enter your figure is to first enter F-E normally, then bring the caret back to the first beat, Shift+V (to create a new voice), enter the C (half note).
Once this voice is created, use V (and not Shift+V) to switch from one voice to the other. Use Shift+V only if you need to create a third one.
The little note symbol in the caret tells you which voice is active. Upstem voice 1:
