I donā€™t know if this was stated before, but where I think HALion fails is in the GUI design. Everything is cryptic and complex.

Wow, this is the first time I have ever heard this! I find the GUI very intuitive and easy to navigate. Once you know what you are doing, you can zip around that no problem, as everything is logically laid out, not to mention, it is fully customizable to ones personal workflow. Perhaps you should try and tailor the GUI to your personal needs? It is very flexible.

  • auto-set loop mode (sets each slice to loop until release after slicing)

There are some crytpic names indeed, but just a few, eg. Key on Del

The solution: hover the mouse for a short period over the button and instant on-line help will show up,
e.g. cryptic name: ā€œKey on Delā€ > full function name: ā€œKey On Delay Timeā€

It would be nice if the tooltips (floating help) included a short additional description and not only the full name of the parameter. This would also be nice to have in the options of Cubase, by the way :slight_smile:

  • double click on the wav display selects between the selectors. Also 3 clicks selects everything (in Loop display)
  • mouse scroll wheel for zoom +/- on sample display
  • undo for adding and changing slices (unlimited)
  • a quick method to enable loop modes for many sample mappings at a time (either via Program Window or other method)
  • a improvement of the drawing of the samples in the display area ā€œImage Under Constructionā€ in the Loop page of the sample editor (after slicing samples)
  • loop modes start and stop auto-set to sliced ranges (currently both start and end are both set to the start range only)
  • Coarse pitch can keep audio the same duration while changing pitch
