Does anyone know how to scan HALion 6 into akai VIP 3 software? Advice would be really appreciated.
If you cannot find a dll of HALion 6 on your system, copy the vt3 variant and the corresponding HALion 6.srf file and Help folder, and paste them to a folder that VIP scans, and change the “HALion 6.vst3” file extension extension to “HALion 6.dll”.
Typically the VST2 variants get installed in
“%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Program Files\VSTplugins”
or
“%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Program Files\Steinberg\VSTplugins”
The VST3 version is installed at
“%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Steinberg\HALion 6”
Sometimes with all the shuffling around and updating it’s hard to keep track of which one of the HALion 6.dll files is the latest (if it got installed at all). In my experience renaming the one in the VST3 folder from vst3 to dll works for the newest HALion and Groove Agent lines of plugins.

Thank you very much for your reply. My head was so mashed up trying to figure it out over the last two days I had forgotten to add the operating system.
I’m using macOS Mojave 10.14.6 will the guidance you provided work resolve issue on mac?
