hello I have some questions I have halion 6 I am on MacBook pro M4 max sequoia I bought cubase 14 elements, I know that cubase 14 no longer supports vst 2 but mine is in vst 3 it’s strange and does not activate, it is put in the plugins to reactivate, but I reactivate but it tells me it failed???
Hi,
have you checked if your Halion 6 license is activated in the Activation Manager and eLicenser Control Center?
EDIT: Halion 6 is not listed as being officially compatible with Sequoia - only Halion 7.1.10 is.
yes it is cans my e-license, the problem is that I have sequoia and halion 6 works well with cubase elements 10.50. and 12, but I saw a youtube video where the person presenting cubase 14 said precisely that it no longer supported vst 2 but for me halion 6 is vst 3 however ???
It has nothing to do with VST2 compatability as Halion 6 runs as a VST3. You can explicetly allow VST2s on C14 by enabling the tiny VST2 button at the very buttom of your Studio/VST Plugin Manager. It should be to no avail.
Have you checked the library manager? Is Halion 6 and its content listed?
Have you downloaded the latest version?
See here (switch to English)
Have you tried to start Cubase with preferences disabled (hold Cmd + Alt during launch)?
If this does not work try to deinstall Halion plus content and reinstall again using the same link above with the given instructions.
I’ll try thanks for your support it’s cool
I tried to uninstall and put it back but it does the same thing, and I can’t find that little button at the bottom for vst 2.
The VST2 button is well hidden…
Okay, so Halion 6 is listed in your Library Manager and starting with Preferences disabled was to no avail. Can you upload a screensot of the error message, please? Maybe I am missing the obvious thing…
I’m going to try, no worries, thank you, it’s really nice, but you can see this button, on elements 14 you can’t see it, I’ll look, thank you very much
hello yes of course, and thanks for the help, by the way I don’t have this famous button, which is weird even retrologue it blocks it, halion 6, I did the update from the download manager, in standalone it works as well as on elements 12 that I have on trial and my old elements 10.50 it works I don’t understand and it is in my e-license ???
Yes, Halion 6 requires the eLicenseControl Center because it is not part of the new licensing system.
Your upload from your previous post is hanging, btw…
I have just read: If Cubase 14 runs on native Apple Silicon modus VST2s can not be activated. Sorry, my knowledge is limited in the Apple department to say the least…
yes, it is in my Elicenser Halion 6. It works everywhere except in Cubase 14, maybe it is a maneuver by Steinberg so that we move to Halion 7???
yes I am on macbook m4 max sequoia I found this button weird, but it’s not normal even retrologue which is offered with cubase there I don’t understand anything!
it wouldn’t be a steinberg vst I understand, but is it steinberg vst 3???
I am still very certain that Halion 6 is a VST3 - I do not even think a VST2 is existent. Same goes for Retrologue 2 which is definetly VST3, too.
I am running out of ideas as this seems to be very Mac specific to be honest.
Here’s an idea: open a new thread with everything you tried so far in the Cubase department of this forum. Tag it with Cubase 14 as this is definetly related to this specific version.
There are much more users over there and I am optimistic that someone is more knowledgeable in this field than I am.
Bonne chance !
Thank you very much for your solution, I am reading in the forum, apparently I am not the only one
