Halion 6 in host mode.

Hi there,

When i use Halion 6 in CB 9 or in NI komplete kontrol i can’t record samples (input inactive)
When i use Halion 6 as standalone mode in just can record samples.

And when Halion 6 is in host mode i can save edited programs.
In host mode in NI komplete kontrol same sounds don’t sound properly and in standalone mode the same sounds sound just right.

Selected sounds are in Anima: beach dance till burst vox

See attachment for examples.
My soundcard is a NI komplete audio and is use input 1 en 2 in CB 9.

Regards Kimbo.

Same problem here!

Hi,

in Cubase 9 you have to activate the side chain in HALion first and then route a signal to the input.

Hi Matthias,
This is for if you want to record audio tracks.
But what must we do when we want to record a VSTi?

And what about some sounds of the Halion 6 that are not playable in the NI komplete kontrol VSTi?
Selected sounds are in Anima: beach dance till burst vox.
It seems that there is a conflict between this two VSTi’s

Anyone?

Actually that’s the same thing. You just have to route the audio output of the VST instrument via Send to HALion.

I don’t have a Komplete Kontrol at hand. Some sounds are playable and some not?

Yes some sounds are playable and some not, beach dance till burst vox.

Can you tell me where to find this routing trick in the manual?
I have never done this.

Regards.

Hi, that’s fine. Routing a recorded audio track via side-chain to Halion input is clear.
But it seems to be impossible to route the audio-input directly from my UR44 (mono 1) to halion.
In standalone version, this is no problem.

Why can’t I route an audio-input to Halion input?

Just add an Audio Track and activate “Record” and “Monitoring” on the track. Then go the “Audio Sends” in the Track Inspector and add a Send to HALion 6 (Side Chain needs to activated).

For a VSTi it is the same workflow. Add an Instrument Track with your VSTi in Cubase and go to “Audio Sends” in the Track Inspector and add a Send to HALion 6 (Side Chain needs to activated).

I have attached two screenshots with the setups.

Thanks a lot, now routing of mic-input to Halion works.

The problem was the activated “direct monitoring” in the Device Setup dialog.
Direct monitoring must to be deactivated.

For a VSTi it is the same workflow. Add an Instrument Track with your VSTi in Cubase and go to “Audio Sends” in the Track Inspector and add a Send to HALion 6 (Side Chain needs to activated).

Hi i still can’t record a VSTi.
