Just got this email announcing, among other things, a HALion 7.5 free feature update coming next week:
… until then, idle speculation, wish lists and rants relating to the anniversary sale over in the Lounge: ![]()
Hi guys
I see on the 30th anniversary sale, I notice there are “upgrades” and then “updates” from older versions of Halion.
The “update” from Halion 5 to Halion 7 is priced at 79.99 euros
Will an “upgrade” be someother price ?
My situation is simple…I have Halion 5 and want to go to Halion 7 (and hopefully the “free” upgrade to Halion 7.5 ?)
What do I pay ?
Are there any gotchas I need to be aware of ?
Thanks
Hi and welcome to the forum!
Updates refer to owners of Halion (same product but older version)
Upgrades refer to owners of Halion Sonic 3 or the Halion Sonic 7 collection (different product)
You can buy the update from Halion 5 to 7 - nothing to worry about. 79,99 is a really good offer, go for it ![]()
Of course, you will be elegible to update to Halion 7.5 !
Worthy of a Stockhausen. Nice!
Interesting update, tnx ![]()
Still no scalable instruments inside Halion 7. Very tiny macro on large monitors once I have a Halion on full mode. ![]()
Is there a Version History or Release Notes document that lists all the improvements? (And those in Sonic..?)
Videos can be more illustrative than text, but equally, they can often take 5 minutes to say something that could be one sentence.
The updated user manual has a section at the beginning listing the new features, I can’t find a release notes document for 7.5 though.
Just found that there’s a version history pdf on the Steinberg Download Assistant that lists fixes. Didn’t spot it before.
I have Halion 7.
Do I need to update it now to get 7.5, or can I wait and do it whenever?
And what about the free classic VSTs? Is there a deadline on redeeming those?
I just got an email saying “Thank you for registering for the Steinberg Classics”, so my guess would be, that I can always download them, later?
Halion 7.5 is a free update and you can do it whenever you want.
This simply means you have the license already registered, again the installation can be done whenever you like. You just need to remember to activate them after installation in the Activation Manager.
Thanks @JuergenP
Glad to hear that there is no deadline or pressure.
Is there anything new in HALion Script coming with this version?
According to the release notes, you can change the font.
