It’s impossible to install Skylab or HALiotron separately. You have to load the entire HALion content. I’ll only be using it sparingly.
When will there be a version of HALion where users can freely choose and install only the instruments they’re interested in?
I feel one of the main reasons for that is the fact HALion has to reload its entire library before you can even load anything. This was not an issue in earlier versions of HALion, but now that “feature” slows everything down. It takes a few seconds to load and when you remove it, it has to unload everything which also takes a few seconds.
Standalone takes 7 seconds for me. Less than one breath.
In Cubase, maybe 1 second.
Cubase itself, 11 seconds to the Hub.
The problem is not really the amount of time it takes. The problem is having to do it in the first place. You’re just loading patches you maybe have installed for months already. Why they have to be re-scanned and reloaded every single time? And this is not exclusive to HALion. Groove Agent has the same problem.

we are working on having seperate downloads available for the single instruments. But since a lot of the content is releated to each other, it is not that easy and not yet done for everthing. At the moment, the only solution is to first install everthing and delete it afterwards.
