Halion 7 Libraries on a external Disk. macOS User (Cubase 15)

I’m not able to install my HALion Sonic libraries on a Hard Disk. I’ve tried different methods creating Alias, moving using Steinberg Library, moving manually and it’s impossible Cubase and HALion Sonic 7 only reads the file that are in the delfault location.

MacOS user with Cubase 15.

Thank you very much.

Have you selected the external HD in the finder, hit command-i and selected “Ignore ownership on the volume”?

Sometimes it can help if you select the Library manager and other like apps and give them full disk permissions.

Hey @noise thank you, for the answer.

I think is ticked

What is the disk formatted as?

Mac OS Plus (HFS+)

That should be ok.

It doesn’t work. When I move (in Library manager) the files from the delfault place to the hard disk. They disappear from HALion but also Padshop and Retrologue.

Just move all the files over to the new location, then delete the old ones.

Double click ANY of the .vstsound files you just moved and it should open the Library Manager and rescan and register everything it finds in that folder.

Mine have lived on a 1TB hard drive in a 4 bay OWC USB-C enclosure since day 1..

Can you put them in an external drive though?

thats were mine are
