HALion 7 losing library/instruments on repeat

Hi. A new problem has arisen with my HALion 7, possibly following the most recent update, but it now routinely ‘loses’ over half the library/instruments that I have. Anyone else having this experience? I have Absolute 6, so quite a healthy number of HALion instruments and around 9,000 presets.

But now when I first open it, it only shows around 2,500 presets and only some of the instrument icons. When I go into ‘browser’ most of the VST sound Halion content is ‘unticked’. When I tick it all so that it sees all content, it can eventually see all the 9,000 presets, but still doesn’t show the instrument icons in media bay, so I can’t easily choose by instrument.

Then everytime I close Halion, or close Cubase and re-open again, Halion has again lost sight of the majority of the presets and instruments. What might be causing this? I’ve reinstalled Halion but that hasn’t helped.

Everything’s there, it just won’t ‘find’ it anymore. I do keep some of the libraries in different locations, but Steinberg Library Manager knows where everything is, so Halion should too - and it always did until recently.

Quick update: this same issue of losing libraries is happening with all my Steingberg instruments: Padshop, Retrologue, Groove Agent, Backbone - not Halion. They appear when first opened, then when re-opened in a project, half the presets & libraries have gone.

Yes, I confirm that it happens to me as well, and I don’t know the reason. Today I was looking for some patches from the Halion factory library (for example Snare Shop or the instruments ending with VX), and I realized the whole collection disappeared.

All good in Steinberg Library Manager.

With my surprise, they are all there when I launch the standalone version of Halion.

I’m attaching a screenshot of Halion library when loaded in Cubase, vs Halion library when loaded as standalone.

Hi the MidiTamer,

In Cubase you set up HALion to show “All” and “Layers”, in standalone you’re showing “Auron” and “All Presets”. Please set it up to “All” and “Programs” in Cubase and standalone and compare again.

Cheers,
Jan

Thanks @Jan_Riesener, totally overlooked that label acting like another filter.

I’m pleased that’s worked for you. But unfortunately that fix isn’t the issue with my problem in the OP. My libraries appear and disappear randomly. Usually present the first time I open HALion (either standalone or in DAW), then gone the next time I go back to it to switch sounds. Anyone got any ideas?
