HALion 7 Missing Samples (HS Factory)

Hi

I have Absolute 6 with Halion 7. So I decided to remove the inferior Halion version, which is Sonic.

Ever since I removed Halion Sonic I got some weird, annoying popup errors when I load some presets in Halion 7 > HS Factory:

And that is only a fraction of the missing files.

Why do I get these errors and how do I fix them?

I tried reinstalling Halion Sonic Selection (Content),

…but no luck.

Update: I reinstalled Halion Sonic 7 (instrument) via the Downloader and tried those presets - no errors. Then I uninstalled (via Windows) Halion Sonic 7 (instrument) and tried the same presets in Halion 7 (full) - no errors. What is going on? How did reinstalling and uninstalling Halion Sonic 7 fix this? This is so confusing…

I previously made this topic, because I had similar errors (with GA, too), and I am still confused: Different Groove Agent and Halion VSTs

All I want is to have all presets that came with the products that I bought and I want those presets to work without any errors.

I think the download manager is still a work-in-progress. I had some issues / confusion after I bought Absolute.

You don’t say I will write a proper “Feature Request” one day regarding the “Assistant”, pointing out all the faults and making a few suggestions. And hopefully Steinberg will listen.

Pretty much. At least I think so. There are still some question marks and very little guidance from Steinberg and even YouTube.
For me it was more to do with the nomenclature and my unfamiliarity with the proprietary environment. Most of my exposure to Download Assistant has been with smaller instruments which I just let go right to my internal drive.

I just purchased Absolute 6 and I’m wondering about best practice for managing instruments and libraries. I’ve used my internal drive for the small number of Steinberg products that I own so far. I’m going to start with Halion 7. My thoughts were to put Halion itself on my internal drive and put the 30 gig of content on my external that I already use for other sample libraries.
