When I try and create a new instrument track I am unable to select the Halion Synth as the only synth options shown are the Retrologue and Padshop. However, I know the Halion is there and functioning since I am using a Cubase template with a track already on there that uses it. When I select that track I can go to Halion and it functions normally in every way. The problem is when I select an instrument track it doesn’t offer the Halion as a choice so I can’t engage it for new tracks. I suppose I could duplicate the existing track and select a different voice but I’d rather Cubase just worked as intended. I had a similar problem with Cubase 13. Has anyone else encountered this precise issue and hopefully found an easy cure?
Did you activate a plugin collection by any chance?
Hi,
Open VST Plug-in Manager > VST Instruments. Select HALion Sonic from the list. Ensure the Hide option is not enabled.
Thank you that’s helpful. It looks like the hide option is enabled as the hide box is shown as in your screenshot. Also Halion is greyed out in the list. However hide doesn’t want to disable. When I click on it nothing happens.
Maybe HALion isn’t up-to-date then?
Can you do a screenshot?
You’re clicking inside of the white tickbox yes??
There should be a grey tick in there if the plug is hidden…is there a tick?
You also didn’t respond to the earlier query whether you might be using a collection other than default which could cause this behaviour if Halion isn’t in the collection.
(Although not the greying out of Halion in the list so probably not that)
Can’t see one. As far as I know I’m using the default collection. I have a couple of third party items also.
I’ve rechecked in the media column and it seems I wasn’t using the default. I’ve now switched to that and the problem appears to have resolved (fingers crossed). Many thanks to you and other respondents for the assistance.
Ooop…missed your last answer while checking in my own plugin manager…was going to suggest you try the default collection or delete the synths from the BIAB collection and re-add them.
Well it was your initial suggestion that led me there so thanks for the help.
