Trying to minimize footprint on my Surface Pro.

  1. Any reason to have both Halion and Sonic installed? SP9 handles the full Halion fine.
  2. Any reason to install both Sonic 2 & Sonic 3 Combis? Which may be a mute point if Q1 answer is no, just Halion.

I hardly ever use Sonic, just HALion. As for the Combis you mention, they are just presets, less than 3 megabytes.
Sonic and the presets use very little space, just 200 maybe 300 megabytes. If you never or rarely use Sonic, remove it.
If you need the space that much you may need a bigger drive.

Actually, the Steinberg Downloader updates showed the Sonic 2 Combis to be greater than 10Gb which prompted the OP. I’ve uninstalled (deleted) Sonic.

I believe that that is the result of an update to the actual sound libraries. But the Combis really are just presets.
I’m sure there’s a topic about that.
