Halion Vs Omni

Continuing the discussion from Is HALion 7 just a myth?:

How do you compare the 2? Omni’s Library vs Halion?

Amadeus e.d.p.

I’ve had both for several years. Both are capable platforms. If you dive deep into its complex systems, HALion 7 is significantly more capable than Omnisphere. I think the limitations of Omnisphere make it attractive to musicians and end-users that would instead focus on music over technical things. That said, I prefer HALion because I find the sounds/presets in omnisphere to be more exotic and unique than for traditional music. Unless you buy the Omnisphere expansions, you will not find many “traditional/bread and butter” instruments.

Sorry not answering, just became aware of this post today.
Anyway, i did’nt conpare, just want to explain, that, its sometimes diffcult to get’s satisfied with one product, alone 100%. no synth hardware or virtual software instrument has it all, there is allways something “missing”, and there is allways place for some improvement in software instrument.
I just think Spectrasonics Omnisphere huge library
is a great inspiration creating music (70gb of patches / instrument, and around 15000 patches, if i’m not corect!).
Allso, Omnisphere synth engine is exstremly powerfull, the unison function with drift, makes the oscillator sounds big and fat.
Halion7 , on the other hand, has true fm synthesis, much better wavetable, and ofcourse sample editor, with key mapping velocity etc…

I love both product, and in my opinion, there is no such thing as bad vs good plugin.
I like kontakt, and i would’nt mind buying uvi falcon ,
keyscape, swam audio modelling,……, if my wallet did allow me:grimacing::grimacing:.
One can’t really say, that omnisphere is better than, halion vice versa, because in the end it’s up to the person what product that person likes to use.
There is so much talk about synth plugins vs , this and that on youtube , omnisphere haters🙄, vs kontakt, vs halion🙄 haters , for me, there is absolut no VS, this and that, because each product has both it’s strength and weakness, and personally, i find it inspiring to have a arsenal of vst instrument of choice , and not to brag about it, but i think having a couple of vst plugins wont heard, that way, the choice of plugins covers alot of favorite styles, pop, rock, classical, film music etc.
I have both Halion 7, Omnisphere, superior drummer 3, a couple of east west (soundsonline) plugins, ivory grand piano, korg legacy vst……
