I’ve read the manual to know I can indicate a bell is to be passed from this ringer to that (from this staff to that staff) by designating the line is to be attached to noteheads. But I’m mystified (and the manual seems silent) on what sequence of steps I’m to take – click on this, then click on that, then…
All I can get it to do so far is to create a line from one notehead to the next notehead on the same staff.
In the Lines panel on the right-hand side in Write mode, make sure you have the control at the top of the Horizontal Lines section both set to the little note icon (which is what tells Dorico that the line you create should be attached to noteheads). Then use Command-click to select the two noteheads that the line should join. Finally, click the line in the panel that you want to appear.
Hi @bellist, I am not sure about your situation. But I tried and it works between different instruments/staves. Maybe you can attach an example Dorico file?
I think on Windows that would be Ctrl-click? That worked. Thank you. Now is there a way to set a parameter somewhere to move the line a bit more away from the notehead. The manual says no adjustments are possible.
Or of course, for specific local changes, in Engrave mode you can drag the control points (or use the Start and End offsets X and Y values) every where you wish:
